Online Surveys Testing
A very important phase, not doing it can cause serious damage.
During the preparation of the survey, there are steps that do not lead to spectacular progress, but are nevertheless essential. One of the most important is to thoroughly test the survey before sending it out. No matter how difficult it is, you will have much more energy to correct the remaining errors later - if at all possible. It is recommended to test the survey in three steps before sending it live.
1. Personal interview
A huge advantage is that anything that arises can be clarified immediately. The subject of the interview is sitting opposite us. It turns out if you do not understand the question exactly, or if the given answer options are not suitable for you. What's more, we can often get hold of new information here, which can give a new direction or a new focal point to the research. This may be the first scene where our research hypotheses - presuppositions - meet reality. Some questions/sections/topics may need to be completely rethought and reworked after the first few interviews. Before this scares anyone away, it is worth considering how much better it is to do this after 5 interviews than when evaluating the data of a faulty survey sent to 3,000 people.
2. Large sample online test
We can easily send the corrected version online to 10-15 people. SurviNator gives you the opportunity to turn on the "other" answer option for the questions and inform the testers that if they have any problems with the given question, they can report it there. It is very likely that most of the errors will be revealed here.
3. Final check before dispatch
Once we feel that everything is perfect and everything is working well, let's test the survey ourselves. Never send it out without it! Anyone else tested it, couldn't know where it might have a branch point, or show/hide a conditional dynamic question. Only the creator of the survey can test what, when and how it should appear.
If we have done this considerable work with honor, then the live sharing can come.
