SurviNator

Survey structure

CONTENTS:

How should we start the specific editing?

We have two paths ahead of us. The first is to review the online survey creation software we have chosen, what types of questions it supports and what options it can offer. The second is that we write the entire survey in a completely concrete way and only after that we prepare the online survey. For those who have never made a survey before, we recommend that you study what the SurviNator online survey program has to offer! This way, you may also be able to use solutions that may help you, but you did not know about them until now. It's good to know, for example, what a token or a fork point is and what it's for. What types of questions are there and how to use them.

The system allows you to create a completely new survey, but you can also use survey templates. These templates are existing surveys that can be used either as a starting point, as an example, or just as an idea.

Whichever way we choose, we still recommend that you first - after studying the site or other surveys - have the complete survey, with all extra requirements. Only then should we start uploading it to the online interface.

Structure of the survey

1. Title

As with a book, a good title can help a lot. Simple but attention-grabbing. If we grab the attention of the person filling out the form or earn their sympathy, it can help a lot.

2. Introductory part

An important part is the address and it is good if it ends with an expression of thanks. Describe correctly and simply what the survey is about and what we are asking for the help of the person completing. It is good if we also share who is doing it, for what purpose, or on whose behalf. It is very important to tell the truth in everything! If, for example, the survey contains questions that the person filling in is reluctant to answer - for example, in the case of very personal or intimate questions -, please explain why this is necessary. Let's explain exactly how this helps our work, or perhaps the progress of an important case. In this way, it is worth drawing attention in advance to any unexpected but difficult part. If not here, then at the latest before the question block.

It is worthwhile - especially for long surveys - to describe the expected time required for completion. The system gives the option for the person filling in to save the survey and continue it later. In the case of long surveys, it is important to inform the person filling in this. You can interrupt the filling process at any time by opening the page again in the same browser and continuing the survey where you left off.

Remember, this is where we need to make our filler truly collaborative. From the point of view of the success of our survey, we can only be successful with honest and responsible respondents.

3. Personal data of the person filling in

Gender, educational level, age, place of residence and all other data on which we want to analyze or compare later. Let's try to collect only the personal data that is really needed. If the survey collects personal data, the consent of the respondents is required so that we can process and manage their data.

When editing the survey, we have three options: The first is that Our second option is that Our third option is that

  1. The survey does not collect personal data. In this case, no GDPR declaration is required.
  2. we make the declaration of consent with our own hand. This can be done with the help of a question to be decided at the beginning of the survey and a branching point. In case of a negative answer, the filling in of the survey must be interrupted - the person filling in the survey must be prompted to the final page.
  3. the system should make the consent declaration. In such cases, when opening the survey, the system asks for a statement of consent from the person who filled it in, which, if negative, then the survey will be interrupted.

4. Questions by topic

These are the questions related to our specific research compiled in the question catalog. Usually, even the shorter surveys cover several topics, and there is a logical order between them. It is worth keeping this in the survey as well. Therefore, the question blocks that are connected or based on eating should come one after the other. Do not start a new section until you have obtained all the necessary information on one topic.

The transition and introductory questions connect the individual question blocks. At the very end of the last block, it is customary to ask an open question so that the respondents can express their opinion in their own words. From these answers, we can gain a new perspective that can give direction to further research or help us find a new focal point.

5. Farewell and Acknowledgment

A simple but kind goodbye, after which the person completing the survey sends it back with satisfaction and good taste, can help if we need your help for something later. Either because you gave an answer that we would like you to explain or explain in more detail, or if we would like your help with our new survey.
